What is SSC MTS?

Staff Selection Commission is a recruitment body under Govt. of India responsible for conducting recruitment for various posts along with Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS), Group ‘C’ Non-Gazette, Non-Ministerial post in the Central Government Ministries/Offices/Departments in the various States/UTs.

SSC MTS Notification 2022

SSC MTS 2022 notification is scheduled to be released on March 22, 2022 on the official website of SSC i.e., www.ssc.nic.in. The online application for the recruitment of SSC MTS will most likely commence from the same date and the last date for online application is expected to be the April 30, 2022.
The Staff Selection Commission is yet to announce the number of vacancies for the post of MTS for the year 2022. But on average and based on existing vacancy, it is expected to be around 8500. However, the exact number of vacancies would be announced shortly by the commission.

SSC MTS Exam Pattern 2022

The SSC MTS Exam 2022 will consist of two papers viz. Paper-I & Paper-II. Paper-I will be a multiple-choice question while Paper-II would be a descriptive type. Paper-I will be a computer-based test consisting of 100 questions of 100 marks and of 90 minutes duration.

On the other hand, Paper-II will be of 50 marks descriptive type questions to be completed within 30 minutes. For each incorrect attempt, ¼ marks would be deducted.

The commission releases a cut-off list a few days after the examination is conducted. Cut off is basically the qualifying marks. The selection process for MTS takes place through two stages of written examination. The following are the stages of the SSC MTS selection process.

  • Candidates qualifying the minimum eligibility criteria will be called for the first round of computer-based tests- Paper-I.
  • Successful candidates of the first round of examination and depending upon the cut-off marks set by the commission will have to appear for the Paper-II descriptive type examination.
  • The final merit list will be prepared for candidates qualifying for the Paper-II examination.
  • Successful candidates are called for document verification depending upon the rank of candidates.
  • Successfully verified candidates will be allotted respective postings and send offer letters on their registered mail ID and postal address.
